Seeking Feedback on CFI

AAFCO is seeking feedback on the 5 items submitted for consideration to be added to the Common Food Index. Please submit feedback by Friday, December 13.

Funded by AAFCO, The University of Kentucky has published a paper, Assessing Error Upon Sampling Bagged Animal Feed, which explores sampling error in feed products. Access the paper here and the data set here.

SAFHER is a state-of-the-art, web-based regulatory platform designed to address the needs of state government agricultural, public health, human and animal food administrative functions. The new demo series, hosted on the Association of Food and Drug Officials (AFDO) YouTube channel, provides step-by-step demonstrations of key SAFHER functionalities. New videos are uploaded twice a month, offering ongoing updates as SAFHER functionality expands.

New Staff Manual Guide 8076 (SMG-8076)

Formerly FMD-76, the SMG-8076 outlines the FDA's oversight of state contract regulatory inspection audits, supporting mutual reliance, an integrated food safety system, and state capacity for enforcing the Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act. Changes reflected in the new contracts include updating organizational and positional titles, removing references to Animal Food in “specialized inspections," and adding definitions for "Animal Food Contract Audit," “State Auditor,” and “Verification Audit."
