Identifies education and training needs, materials and approaches
Enforcement Issues
Provides a forum for discussion, promotion and development of uniform enforcement policies and actions by AAFCO members.
Feed and Feed Ingredient Manufacturing
Works cooperatively with domestic and international stakeholders to develop science- and risk-based regulations.
Feed Labeling
Maintains Feed Labeling Guides and reviews labeling requirements to determine modifications needed to more effectively serve purchasers of commercial feed and feed manufacturers.
Finance
Oversees financial planning to provide strategic advice, financial stability and support to the Board of Directors.
Ingredient Definitions
Reviews ingredient definitions that are published in the annual Official Publication (OP).
Inspection and Sampling
Works with domestic and international feed ingredient manufacturers and stakeholders to develop and promote the uniform application of inspection and sampling procedures.
Laboratory Methods and Services
Works with FDA, CFIA, regulated industry, and other stakeholders to promote communication and provide tools, resources and methodologies for feed laboratories.
Model Bills and Regulations
Provides recommendations to the Board of Directors so that fair and just model bills and regulations are maintained and advocated by AAFCO regarding the production, labeling, distribution and sale of commercial feed and production of non-commercial feed.
Necrology and Life Membership
Honors deserving feed control officials who have retired and are not involved with regulation, manufacture, distribution or sale of commercial feeds. Informs of the death of an associate and appropriately remembers the deceased at Annual Meetings.
Nominating
Selects individuals qualified to hold positions as officers or to serve on the Board of Directors.
Pet Food
Works cooperatively with FDA, the pet food industry and other stakeholders to monitor, review, and recommend appropriate revisions to the OP and trainings, workshops or educational materials related to pet food and specialty pet food.
Proficiency Testing Program
Supports regulatory, industry and commercial feed laboratories by providing a proficiency testing program that is compliant with International guidelines at nominal cost to laboratories.
Strategic Affairs
Provides advice and support regarding strategic direction, planning, tracking and implementation of related association activities and stability, including oversight of financial and maintaining the bylaws to best serve the needs of AAFCO.
Technology
Advises on all matters related to AAFCO’s information technology needs, systems development and related budgetary issues.
