Who is eligible for membership?
AAFCO membership is limited to employees of state, dominion or other governmental agencies who enforce animal-feed regulations, including those for pet food. The state departments of agriculture as well as the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA), Costa Rica and Puerto Rico are all AAFCO members.
AAFCO membership includes some of the following benefits:
- A forum where state agencies, federal agencies, and industry collaborate and learn.
- Two meetings per year that include specialized training.
- Opportunities for getting involved, including committee work and educational events.
What if I am not a state official?
While manufacturers, pet owners, and feed purchasers are not eligible for membership, they can sign up for AAFCO’s “Feed Bin” newsletter and have access to helpful resources. In addition, AAFCO’s mid-year and annual meetings are open to the general public. To sign up for “Feed Bin” and additional industry resources, click here.
If you believe you, or someone you work with, meets the AAFCO membership requirements, we invite you to submit a membership application request here:
