Ingredient Definitions Committee

The Ingredient Definitions Committee (IDC) serves as a clearing house for the development of feed ingredient definitions and provides and maintains a mechanism for the organization and distribution of information about ingredients and their use.

The actual definitions are published annually in the AAFCO Official Publication (OP). These definitions apply to all animal feeds. Many pet food manufacturers have tighter specifications than these definitions. We recommend talking with your pet food company about the ingredients and sources they use.
