AAFCO Proficiency Testing Program Quality Manager

Summary: Reporting to the AAFCO Executive Director and the PT Program Manager, the Proficiency Testing Program (PTP) Quality Manager interacts with the PTP Team (Committee Chair, Program Manager, Preparation Facility, Statistician, and FASS Admin Support and IT) regarding PTP operations, procedures, and policies. This position is a part-time, 1099 contractor with an estimated weekly commitment of 5 to 10 hours. Position is remote (virtual) and can work anywhere in the United States.
Duties:
- Perform the following tasks for the Quality Management System:
- Work with Program Manager to ensure that the management system is implemented and maintained.
- Provide internal audit reports for the Management Review, to be finalized by September 30 of each year
- Share findings of internal and external audits with the PTP committee
- Assist the PTP Team with CAPA and Root Cause analyses, as needed
- Serve as primary Document Control Manager
- Work with FASS Admin Support and IT
- Upload new and revised procedures to appropriate locations
- Train PTP Team on new and revised procedures
- Assist in review of final statistical reports prior to publishing (first-pass review for up to 3 sets of reports monthly)
- Work with Program Manager and Accrediting Body to ensure that PTP meets the requirements of ISO/IEC 17043 Conformity assessment – General requirements for proficiency testing
- Work with Program Manager to verify the PTP conforms to The International Harmonized Protocol for the Proficiency Testing of Analytical Chemistry Laboratories, IUPAC Technical Report
- Assist Committee Chair with the following:
- Attend annual (August) and mid-year (January) meetings
- Assist in preparing agendas, minutes, and reports, using deadlines as outlined in the AAFCO Procedures Manual
- Work with FASS Admin Support and IT
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor of science in science, math, or a related field from four-year college or university
- At least 3 years of previous experience with proficiency testing program(s) under either ISO 17025, 17034, or 17043 accreditation (required)
- Work experience in a feed analytical laboratory desirable; familiarity or involvement with AAFCO Lab community helpful
- Experience working with volunteers and technical subject matter experts
- General knowledge of statistical methodologies that relate to analysis of proficiency testing data
- Demonstrated oral and written communication skills
- Commitment to excellent customer service
