Job Title: Quality Assurance Coordinator
Reports To: Quality Assurance Superintendent
Location: Carlsbad, New Mexico – East Plant/Office

OVERVIEW

The Quality Assurance Coordinator assists operations personnel in ensuring that products and services meet IPNM quality requirements and customer needs

JOB DUTIES

Monitor quality of production and shipments and provide guidance to operations personnel to help ensure compliance with internal and external product specifications
Lead efforts to address customer concerns and complaints in coordination with Sales and Customer Service personnel
Lead the Root Cause Analysis process to address customer quality concerns in a timely manner and guide management to execute appropriate changes within the operation
Conduct internal audits of quality control processes and procedures to ensure compliance with Safe Feed Safe Food and OMRI requirements
Coordinate customer and third-party audits of mine/plant facilities and operating procedures with respect to Safe Feed Safe Food and OMRI requirements
Provide guidance and assistance to operations and technical personnel on projects to ensure compliance with Safe Feed Safe Food and OMRI requirements
Assist with establishing  product quality standards, policies and procedures
Assist  with matching product type and quality with customer needs and expectations
Designated Preventive Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI) 
Designated Quality and Food Safety Leader (Q&FS Leader) 
Designated Safe Quality Food Practitioner (SQF Practitioner) 
Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

Valid Driver’s License
Related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and work experience preferred
Associates degree in a technical or business field preferred 
Ability to understand and interpret data and numerical information is important
Experience in dealing directly with customers is beneficial
Sales, customer service or similar work experience is beneficial
Knowledge of potash and fertilizer production is preferred
Must be able to travel up to 25% of the time (valid US passport is preferred if possible, but not required)

SCHEDULE AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
9/80 schedule, Monday – Thursday, 9-hour workdays, Fridays worked, 8-hour workday, with every other Friday off. Schedule subject to change.

Combination of outdoors, in a non-temperature controlled environment, and subject to weather conditions, and in an indoor, temperature-controlled office environment
Exposed to loud sounds and distracting noise levels
Employees are required to wear safety attire and personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Standing, walking, using hands, reaching with hands, climbing and stooping up to 2/3 of the time
Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. – lifting will be required up to 1/3 of the time
Must be able to climb and descend vertical ladders and stairs
The environment may consist of moving mechanical parts and high/precarious places
Must be able to perceive color differences
Will be required to wear personal protective equipment as needed 
A pre-placement physical and hair follicle drug test will be required for anyone selected for this opportunity. Placement into the position will not be made until the results are received and cleared by Intrepid.
