Registration Information

Registration Fee: $2.00 per product regardless of weight. Inspection Fee: An additional $25.00 per product if available in quantities of 10 pounds or less paid with the registration fee. Complete legible labels are required for each product being registered, if product is available in multiple sizes only one label is required however, all sizes available must be listed on application. Acceptable formats include: 8.5 x 11or 11 x 17 hard copies or digital in individual pdfs. All registrations are valid from the day of approval till December 31 of the same year. Registration packet includes completed registration application, legible labels for each product and fees.

 

Tonnage Information

Tonnage Fees: Visit the NMDA web site for more information on tonnage reporting at nmdeptag.nmsu.edu/aps/fsf/commercial-feed-tonnage.html A tonnage fee of .15¢ per ton applies to all commercial feeds, packaged or bulk, distributed in quantities of ten pounds or greater. Due no later than the last day of January, April, July and October of each year for the preceding calendar quarter. Tonnage forms are provided by NMDA’s Feed, Seed & Fertilizer Section and are mailed or emailed to recipients approximately one week before the close of the quarter.

Penalties: Any reports filed after the due date are accessed a late fee of twenty percent (20%) of the tonnage fee due, but not less than ten dollars ($10) in addition to the tonnage fee due even if reporting “0”.

Minimums: New Mexico currently has no minimum for fees due.
