Dietary Fiber Quality Reference Material (QRM) Study
Participating laboratories will receive two (300g) samples of ground dog food to analyze for dietary fiber using their chosen method(s). Participants will conduct the analysis in duplicate upon receipt of the sample, again after 30 days, and again after 60 days for a total of six (6) results. The results will be reported in the [DRW Portal] along with the results of the dog food sample. In addition to the submission of the results for dietary fiber, participating laboratories will submit the results for the controls β-Glucan and Wheat Starch for each run. The results of these controls will help ensure the absence of undesirable enzymatic activities. All controls and the reference sample will be provided by AAFCO.
The results will undergo statistical analysis using the same methodology applied in AAFCO’s regular PTP schemes. Remaining material will be available for purchase by laboratories to support the development and implementation of dietary fiber methods.
Cost: $50 per laboratory (includes sample, controls, enzymes, & additional Dietary Fiber QRM sample).
Additional Dietary Fiber QRM Samples:
Current PT Subscribers: $55/sample
Non-Participating Laboratories: $110/sample
